SAVE THE GOLF COURSE! Alex Easton-Brown for Marin Supervisor

I'm concerned about the destruction of a beautiful piece of property at the heart of the San Geronimo Valley. I'm not a golfer, but this open, elegantly designed parcel along Sir Francis Drake Blvd. is the visual soul of the Valley: its essence, its core"         -Alex Easton-Brown

Alex's Statement:

I'm concerned about the destruction of a beautiful piece of property at the heart of the San Geronimo Valley. I'm not a golfer, but this open, elegantly designed parcel along Sir Francis Drake Blvd. is the visual soul of the Valley: its essence, its core.

To take away this long stretch of peaceful, relaxed beauty is to make the Valley just another place with a bunch of trees and hillsides: pleasant, but ordinary.  Its loss is a loss for the whole County: one more acquisition by outside interests who shut down the Drakes Bay Oyster Farm and seem intent on forcing our creek side homeowners and our community institutions off the land.

The problem we face is that our politicians don't listen to us. Their greed and ambition puts us last in the order of importance.  Powerful outside Non-Governmental Organizations control our county government which they see as fat, easy pickings because we are such a tax-rich county.

It will not cost taxpayers anything if we approve this Measure by voting YES, but it will cost us $15 million to tear up the Course if we don't vote YES.

One Supervisor, Dennis Rodoni, convinced the Board of Supervisors to condemn the Golf Course in secret without asking for public input. Supervisors come and go, but if we don't approve this Measure, any 3 Supervisors in the future could change the zoning to commercial and allow anything

to be built on the land: a hotel, a strip mall, who knows what?

Anything is possible when you mix Big Money and politics.

As supervisor, I will work hard to cut back the excessive waste of our tax dollars, the featherbedding and fat jobs that make Civic Center such an attractive prize.
